As a public non-profit organization, Sheltering Tree Ranch relies on community support to run our autism and learning challenge development center. This includes both monetary donations and volunteering provided by individuals and local businesses. We also have generous families supporting children whose families cannot afford some or all of the tuition cost.
Because we believe that every child and adult deserves an opportunity to reach their full potential, it is our goal to make Sheltering Tree Ranch affordable for all, but we need your help! As a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donations made to Sheltering Tree are tax deductible. You can also participate in one of our community events to support our mission and get to know some of our amazing kids and adults. If you would like to sponsor a child or adult, donate, or volunteer, please contact us today.

Bowling with Friends
The Bowling with Friends event is an excellent opportunity for members of the community to get to know some our incredible individuals who have special needs. Bowlers with special needs play for free with helper bowlers who pay $25 to play and support our mission. Our bowlers play the first ball of each frame while the helper bowls the second ball, so everyone has a chance to participate and enjoy the fun.
Get your fishing poles ready! Each March, we hold a bass tournament at Pickwick Landing State Park packed with friendly competition and outdoor fun. Entry fees help to support the educational, recreational, and therapeutic services we provide here at Sheltering Tree.
Autism Awareness 5K
In honor of Autism Awareness Month, we host our annual 5K Autism Awareness Walk/ Run here at the ranch each April. The race takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month on a certified off-road course. Sponsors who contribute $100 or more for the event have their name featured on shirts for the race as well as a yard sign placed along the course.
Take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery with us at our annual Golf Scramble, a golf tournament held each May with sponsorship opportunities available. Registration is open to both teams and individuals with registration fees funding our mission to help individuals with learning challenges and their families. The event is held at the Shiloh Golf Course in Adamsville on the second Saturday of the month.
It doesn’t get any bigger or better than our October Fun Day event! Fun Day is our largest fundraising event each year, where we welcome everyone in the community to come and enjoy a day packed with fun and free activities including horse painting, razor rides, bouncy houses, vendors, a horse show, and car show.
While this is the only day of the year that we charge an entrance fee to the ranch, all activities can be enjoyed at no extra cost unless you participate in our cake walk or grab some delicious barbecue and hot fudge sundaes! Proceeds from this event contribute greatly to the children we support and allow everyone to be a part of something amazing.
